Tweaking Thanksgiving Traditions

I can't remember where I read this idea, but I loved it and tried it this year for Thanksgiving.  Instead of having everybody go around the table and say what they were thankful for, I put fabric markers on the table and each person wrote what they were thankful for on the tablecloth and dated it.  It is now my favorite tablecloth and I can't wait to take it out again next year.  My very funny brother wrote, "I love LIPA," creating a primary source that future generations can interpret as they wish.  Of course, my two-year-old godson stole the show by scribbling all over the tablecloth.  I loved it!  It was a fun and different way to give thanks for all that we still have in the wake of Sandy, and I highly recommend that other families try it next year.

Happy reading,
Christine
