On December 5, I posted this on the state’s testing plans for ELA. Fortunately, the state has had a change of heart. They are no longer planning a 4 hr 15 min testing block for fourth graders, and are going to administer the ELA over three days instead of two. Unfortunately, the tests will still be administered right after we return from Spring Recess. While this timing is not ideal for helping students focus on the test, it will enable officials to use student test scores in teacher evaluations in June. Read more about the plan here.
